FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS |
|||
This is the ITP website information trail for teachers and support staff looking for work (and a great lifestyle!)
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: Q: Broadly speaking, what recruitment services can ITP provide? A: We assist as required, on a very flexible basis, with the recruitment of virtually every member of the academic and support staff that you'd expect to find in schools and colleges. That includes people like headteachers and principals, teachers and classroom assistants, caretakers and invigilators. These may be for cover on a short-term temporary basis, for contingencies like maternity leave or sabbatical/study years, or on a permanent basis. We provide this service for nursery, primary, early years, secondary and special schools, academies, pupil referral units, colleges and private schools throughout the UK . Q: What does it cost? A: What does it cost you? Nothing. We charge the client if and when we locate and secure the person or people they want. Q: What if I don't like a job I'm offered? A:You don't accept it. It is that simple. Q: How can I contact ITP? A: All offices are open from 7.15 am until 5.30 pm Monday to Friday. We are also available during holiday periods except on bank holidays. You can contact your ITP consultant on their mobile 'phone 24 hours a day. An answering machine is available at all other times. Call us on 0845 290 6000 (from the UK ) or +44 208 853 0144 if you're overseas, or email us using either TeacherEnquiries@itper.com or SupportStaffEnquiries@itper.com Q: What checks are carried out by ITP when recruiting staff? A: In respect of teaching staff, and some others by arrangement with clients, ITP makes all of the checks which are demanded of DfCSF Quality Mark holders (the Quality Mark relates to supply teachers, but the policies and practices it prescribes are in general use whatever the post involved). This means that all potential recruits are interviewed by a consultant in their local office , where verifiable photo ID and proof of residence as well as proof of a right to work in the UK are required. Where candidates are short-listed, professional references are obtained (with the referees themselves being screened) and a medical history form is completed (in the event of any queries, we'll ask you to take a medical). ITP also carries out Criminal Records Bureau checks with full disclosure, List 99 checks (under the Protection of Children Act) and qualification checks. No document is assumed to be genuine until a successful check has been made on the veracity of its provenance. In the event that an Overseas Qualified Teacher is employed, NARIC checks and enquiries with foreign police are made. For non-teaching roles we make checks which are specific to the duties involved. We therefore deliver in respect of our duty of care and, if there is any question about either teaching or non-teaching personnel applying for work in a school or college, ITP will err on the side of caution.
