Itper’s Expertise

Itper has been established since 2003 and today we’re one of London’s leading supply teacher agencies.

Every year we place thousands of teachers, nursery nurses, cover supervisors, teaching assistants and support staff in hundreds of nursery, primary and secondary schools throughout Greater London and the Home Counties.

Itper isn’t a general staffing agency that also happens to recruit teachers. We’re specialists, which means we do nothing else but work for teachers, education professionals and schools.

Therefore, we’re experts at recruiting, vetting and supporting teachers and education professionals, whether they’re experienced, recently qualified, QTS or overseas trained and we work tirelessly to organise successful placements for them at suitable client schools.

Second to None in Terms of Quality

We’re members of both the REC and APSCo. These professional bodies represent the UK recruitment industry and as members, we’re bound by their Codes of Ethics, which means we’re committed to operating according to the highest ethical and professional standards.

What’s more, we’re holders of the UK Government’s Department for Education (DfE) Quality Mark. This is only awarded to agencies and Local Education Authorities that demonstrate the highest professional standards in the way they recruit, interview and vet supply teachers, the way they check and manage their performance and how they stay at the forefront of changes in the teaching sector.

As holders of the Quality Mark, we’re subjected to regular, external and independent scrutiny to ensure that standards are maintained.

Indeed, we’re one of only two agencies ever to achieve a 100% score at every one of its Quality Mark Audits - there can be no better assurance that Itper is second to none within the education staffing sector.

Itper’s Past

The history of Itper can be traced back to the earliest days of the Education Recruitment sector.

In 1993, one of our directors set up Capstan Teachers. The other two current Itper directors joined the Capstan board in 1997 and 1998 respectively.

Capstan became the biggest supply teacher business in the UK and the dominant market leader.

Capstan was acquired by Capita Group PLC (a FTSE 100 company) at the end of 1999, becoming Capita Education Resourcing.

The leaders stayed on, running the new business and acquiring other supply teacher agencies to establish the Capita Education business that operates today.

Being part of a massive PLC didn’t suit the founders of Capita Education and one by one they left to do other things.

Itper’s Inception

One of the team spent 2 years running an IT recruitment business (Called ITP Recruitment) before returning to the education market when he established ITP Education Resourcing in 2003.

Based originally in Bromley, Kent, the new business started with only four people. The business grew rapidly, and by 2006 ITP Education had moved into much larger offices in the heart of Greenwich in London. The business continued to prosper, employing many more people as well as opening a second London office in Paddington and an Australia office in Sydney.

In 2010, Itper’s Managing Director was joined by his two former colleagues.

In the summer of 2010 ITP Education Resourcing became Itper with a Mission to achieve industry-leading operational excellence, customer satisfaction and financial performance, within the UK Education Recruitment market.
